Privacy Policy

MeetPeeps LLC (“MeetPeeps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates an AI-powered platform for human connection — helping people find friends, romantic partners, creative collaborators, professional contacts, and any other kind of meaningful relationship they're looking for. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We are based in San Francisco, California, and this policy is designed to comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Scope: United States only. MeetPeeps is currently available to residents of the United States only. This Privacy Policy is governed by United States and California law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions outside the United States. 1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information when you use MeetPeeps:
- •Identifiers: Name, email address, and phone number (optional).
- •Connection intent and interests: Self-description, what kind of people you're looking to meet (friends, romantic partners, collaborators, professional contacts, etc.), personal interests, life stage, values, and topics you want to discuss.
- •AI-inferred profile data: Interests, communication style, relationship intent, personality signals, lifestyle signals, and connection goals — all inferred by our AI system from your onboarding chat and subsequent interactions. This is sensitive personal information under CPRA.
- •Calendar availability: When you connect your calendar, free/busy slot information from that calendar. We do not read event titles or details. Calendar sync is not yet available — this describes what we will collect once it is enabled.
- •Call participation data: Whether you completed or missed a scheduled call, call duration, and post-call feedback ratings. MeetPeeps does not record your call audio or video. LiveKit carries the audio stream directly between you and your match; we retain only metadata about scheduled calls (time, participants) and never the content.
- •Behavioral signals: Match acceptance/rejection patterns, response times, and engagement signals used to refine your profile and matching quality.
- •Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, and general usage patterns collected automatically when you use the platform.
- •Consent records: When you sign up and agree to our Terms, Privacy Policy, age and U.S.-residency eligibility, and to receive a one-time verification code by text or email, we record that consent at the moment you submit it — including the date and time, the IP address and browser/device user-agent of the request, and the email or phone number you provided. We keep this record to evidence your consent, including for telephone-consumer-protection (TCPA) compliance.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- •Power AI matching: Your profile data — including AI-inferred attributes — is analyzed to identify people who are likely to have a meaningful connection with you, regardless of the type of relationship you're seeking.
- •Run concierge conversations: Our AI concierge uses your profile to have pre-call context conversations that make introductions warmer and more relevant.
- •Send notifications: Push notifications and optional SMS to alert you when a match and mutual availability are confirmed.
- •Improve the service: Aggregated, de-identified data may be used to improve matching algorithms and platform quality.
- •Comply with legal obligations: As required by applicable law.
3. Automated Decision-Making (AI Matching)
We use AI to help you find potential matches — analyzing your profile to identify people likely to make a meaningful connection with you. We describe this automated processing here for transparency.
The system analyzes your stated goals, inferred interests, communication style, professional context, calendar availability, and behavioral signals to rank and select match candidates.
You have the right to opt out of automated decision-making. If you opt out, you will not receive AI-generated matches until a human reviews your profile — see the ADMT / AI Matching Opt-Out page for full details and to exercise this right.

4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share data only with the following service providers, who process it solely on our behalf under data processing agreements:

We may also disclose your information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of MeetPeeps, our users, or the public.
Voice synthesis (Cartesia): In a limited testing capacity, we use Cartesia to convert the concierge's written replies into spoken audio. Only the text of the concierge's reply is sent to Cartesia for synthesis — we do not send your call audio, and Cartesia does not receive a recording of you. Consistent with the rest of this policy, MeetPeeps does not record your call audio or video.
SMS Communications
If you provide a phone number, we use it solely for account authentication. MeetPeeps sends one-time verification codes via SMS through Telnyx. Message frequency: authentication codes only — no marketing messages.
- •Opt out: Reply STOP to any of our messages. We will immediately stop sending SMS to that number.
- •Opt back in: Reply START to resume receiving verification codes.
- •Help: Reply HELP for support information.
- •Rates: Message and data rates may apply.
5. Data Retention
- •Account and profile data: Retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, all personally identifiable data is immediately and permanently deleted.
- •AI usage logs: Retained for 90 days, then deleted.
- •Call metadata: Session metadata (duration, participant IDs, outcome) retained for 1 year for quality and safety purposes.
6. Your Rights
California Residents
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA and CPRA, described below.
- Right to Know: You may request a copy of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, our purposes for collecting it, and the third parties we share it with.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information. We will delete your data and direct our service providers to do the same, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: We do not sell your personal information. We also do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may still submit a formal opt-out request via our Do Not Sell or Share page.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: You may request that we limit our use of sensitive personal information (including AI-inferred attributes) to what is strictly necessary to provide the service.
- Right to Opt Out of Automated Decision-Making: You may opt out of our AI matching system. See the ADMT Opt-Out page.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. Opting out of automated matching means you will not receive AI-generated matches until a human reviews your case — this is a functional consequence, not a penalty.

7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls limiting who can view your data, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at leedan@meet-peeps.com.
8. Children
MeetPeeps is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older who reside in the United States. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at leedan@meet-peeps.com and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The “effective date” at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
